Easy French Press Tutorial

How to make a French Press without all the bells and whistles! Well, in our new video, we've got you covered!

Introduction

The French Press is an interesting brewing method. Often people believe it is the "oldest" brewing method because of its lack of technology. However, this is NOT the case. I actually have a picture of a US patent for one of the original French Presses and it wasn't submitted until the 20th century! (For reference, humans have been drinking coffee for between 500-1,000 years, depending on who you ask) Though it doesn't have any electronic "tech" as we think of it today, it is quite advanced: think about the coil spring that seals the fine metal mesh, plunging through hot water, separating the grounds from the beverage liquid. It's magical!

I digress...The French Press is considered a full immersion brew method. Simply put, the coffee grounds are fully immersed in the beverage water and not separately filtered.
